I am that Shadowy Prophet who Six Thousand Years ago
Fell from my station in the Eternal bosom. Six Thousand Years
Are finishd. I return! both Time & Space obey my will.
I in Six Thousand Years walk up and down: for not one Moment
Of Time is lost, nor one Event of Space unpermanent
But all remain: every fabric of Six Thousand Years
Remains permanent: tho' on the Earth where Satan
Fell, and was cut off all things vanish & are seen no more
They vanish not from me & mine, we guard them first & last
The generations of men run on in the tide of Time
But leave their destind lineaments permanent for ever & ever.
ぼくは 六千年前に 永遠界の懐からはぐれ落ちた あの影のごとき預言者である
六千年が過ぎ ぼくは戻る 時空はぼくの意志に従う
ぼくは 地上と下界を 六千年歩く なんとなれば 時間の一瞬たりとも
空間のひとつの出来事さえも 失われることも 消え去ることもないから
すべてはそのまま
六千年織り上げてきたものはなにひとつ 変わることがないのだから
サタンが落ちてきて 切り離されてしまった この地上では
すべては消え去り 二度と目にすることができないが
それらのものは ぼくからは 消え去ってはいない ぼくには見える
ぼくたちが それらを 最初と最後に ガードしてる
流れゆく時間のなかで 人間たちは 何代にもわたって 絶え間なく続いてきたが
前もって定められたその目鼻立ちは 永遠に 変わらぬままだ 永遠に
